Pasting pre-formatted text
From Georgetown University Commons Knowledge Base
Unfortunately, pasting in pre-formatted text (like text copied from a Word document) can lead to formatting issues. While there are a few ways around the issue, we recommend that you format your text in the blog editing box and not rely on formatting carrying over from a word processing program.
If you have text from a word processing program that you want to paste into your blog, please consider using any of these options.
- Use a basic word processing program like TextEdit (on Mac) or Notepad (on Windows) to convert text to plain text before pasting it into your blog.
- Click the icon of a clipboard with "T" and paste your text in the box that appears. This will strip the formatting.
- Click the icon of a clipboard with "W" and paste your Word document text in the box that appears. This removes most of the formatting on Word documents.
