From Georgetown University Commons Knowledge Base
The Georgetown Commons utilizes the Georgetown NetIDs as the primary login system for blogs and wikis. So, when alumni NetIDs are deactivated by UIS, alumni lose access to the Georgetown Commons. If you would like to maintain access to your blog or ePortfolio, follow these steps:
1. Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org requesting post-graduation access. Include a link to your blog and your non-Georgetown email address.
2. You will receive a confirmation email at that address, prompting you to create a new password. Do so.
3. If you do not receive the confirmation email, let the Commons team know ASAP.
If you have already lost access, Georgetown Commons staff members can re-activate any alumni's access to their blog sites, and none of the content on blogs or wikis are deleted or changed unless requested by the blog or wiki creator/administrator.
If you are an alumni that needs access, or if you know of alumni that will need access, you can request this access through the Georgetown Commons team at email@example.com. Once the staff receives your request, you will receive further instructions to log in with a temporary password which you will need to change after logging in.
